Just an idea.
Hey Jake!! What if you took a battery from a Volt and attached it to your experiment. Would that give it some fire?
Hmmm..... interesting question. I'm assuming your talking about a Chevy Volt. I'm not sure about the exact nature of those batteries but I would imagine it would change the PL signal. One group did try applying an electric potential (voltage) on their samples while taking a PL measurement and saw some variance in the results. As for catching fire, I'm not sure. It would be neat if my samples did catch fire, then my committee couldn't bother me anymore. "So Jason, what is the latest on your samples?"
I would reply "Well Sir, I hooked up a high voltage battery to it and smoked/burned it pretty good, looks like charcoal now. Oh well, I guess I can't measure it anymore, looks like you'll have to just gimme my degree"
Anybody know where I can get my hands on a Chevy Volt battery?
