 Took this on the way to the river.  Don't know what they are.
 These are called Devils Claws by the locals. Don't know if they are really named that. Seed pods shown here and blooms shown below in the next picture.
The local artists take the dry seed pods and weave them  into balls. Some as large as basketballs.  We have a few of these growing in the front weed patch.

Love the flowers. Have never seen anything like the Devils claws before. Same goes for the strange fungus in the other pictures. You sure have some wild kind of plants in the West.
