In talking with David, and him giving me ideas, I have started a new story. It is partly fantasy and partly Family history.
The last chance
.
The twelve ancient masters of time have control, for different members of the Hanks family lifelines. They have gathered together, for what may be the last chance to recover the way to travel back in time. Seems they have somehow lost the way, through some bad management or some kind of skullduggery, down through the ages. Having lost the way, they can no longer do it themselves, but have found a way to send a member of the Hanks clan, through the portals of time, to try and find out where they went wrong. There are only twelve portals back in time, that they can use right now, until they can restore the lost powers. Once a Hanks is back in time, there are many portals he can use to travel around the time period that he is in. The only thing he can do to get back to the time period where he lives, is to return to the portal he first emerged from. This is the only future time travel available to him right now. The lost powers control the power to go forward in time as well , but Hanks can’t use them until the time masters have restored the powers to themselves and make it available to future Hanks. This time they have gathered together for the eleventh time. Each one of them having tried his powers to renew the way to go back in time and restore that which was lost, and failed. This time it was up to the last time master to try his luck.
This last master was the time keeper for the timeline of life, belonging to the Thomas Hanks Family.
“ I can’t see where you can do any better than the rest of us” , complained Octavia the first time master. “We have done everything possible to rectify what went wrong,” he said again. “ That’s true”, Grimmer, the third time master burst in with. “ What can you do that we haven’t already tried”, snorted Donovan , the fourth time master.
The twelfth time master, Hanson, looked around at all of them and said, “ I have a different kind of plan for this last try. It will take about twenty four Earth years, but in our time, only twenty four days, before it can go in to effect. When we meet for the last time, everything will be in place. Everything will be ready to go. We will meet at the place where it all began, at Stonehenge”, he replied. “Wait a minute”, whined Darwin, the tenth master. “Remember, that’s where I tried, and it didn’t work. I can’t help it if the volunteer never returned”. Then Hanson said, “You didn’t prepare the man to face up to the rigors of time travel. I think. The person I want to send to fix our problem is, at this very moment being well prepared. Next time we meet, you will see”
To be continued.
