Winter is not done yet!

Thank goodness for an extended winter in the mountains. Yeah, panning is still a ways down on the calendar but it is nice to be able to squeeze out some more snowboarding before the white stuff melts. I'm a big advocate of getting off the couch whether it be to go panning; taking a hike; tracking the whereabouts of wild canines; or just walking around the block! I'm finding that it is taking more gumption as I get older to get off the couch and get some exercise. It is not easy when it's warm inside and the television is on, "do I want to go outside?, nahhh I'll sit down with these chili cheese chips and watch some more TV." However, when it snows 7 inches in the mountains and the skies are relatively clear, that's enough to motivate me to get my rear in gear and slide down some snow. I uploaded a video that I took with my new helmet cam. It's fun to take video and pictures of your adventures but they never seem to do the experience justice. Butterflies, mountains and flowers always look prettier when you see them with your own eyes (all the more reason to get out there, right). This video is no exception, that run was way more fun than the video makes it look.

Hey Jake, saw that you are in the 70 degree range today. Snow will be disappearing soon with those temps.

Yeah, it almost got up to 80 today. I think the mountains hit the mid 50's. Oh well, I guess it's time to bust out the gold pan and hiking shoes.
